Summer Camp Requirements

The Mount Pearl Marlins welcome anyone who would like to swim at the summer camp! Whether your child is a competitive swimmer looking to improve their skills or if they are in lessons and they want to speed up their improvement, this summer camp is the place for them! The children will be divided into groups depending on their ability and are encouraged to progress at their own level. Although, the requirement is for the kids to be able to swim 2 laps of the pool without taking breaks in between. The ages at the camp are 7-15. The Mount Pearl Marlins Summer Camp is great way for your children to learn the many aspects of the sport of swimming and for your child to develop the basics of a healthy lifestyle. It is also a great way to spend your summer and make new friends!

Summer Camp Information

The Mount Pearl Marlins Swim Camp runs from 8:45-12:00 from Mondays to Fridays. Our qualified instructors teach lessons/ practices similar to those in the swim team for an hour to an hour and 45 min sessions in the morning dependent on the day of the week. The coaches teach the children techniques in the four strokes of competitive swimming. They include; Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly. They also learn about Dives, Flip Turns, etc.

After the pool sessions, the children bring small healthy snacks from home. We would ask for the snacks to be peanut free because of severe nut allergies.

Each week the coaches bring the children on runs and bike rides throughout the trails of Mount Pearl and play active games outside.
On rainy days, the coaches have the children stay inside to do exercises and play indoor games. Every week, the coaches in charge of the camp will send out an email each Friday to the parents of the kids registered for the following week with more info. They will also send out updates throughout the week.

Last but not least, when registering for your child, the summer camp coaching staff would ask if you could send us your child's information, such as name, home phone #, emergency # and birth date, and what camps you want to put them in.

Hope to see you there!
