Mount Pearl Marlins Swim Team

8^th Annual North York Aquatic Club Mega City Swim Meet

The Mount Pearl Marlins Swim Team comprised of Ryan Baxter, Tim Bennett, Emma Forbes, Matt Roberts, Meghan Winsor and Head Coach David Shears traveled to the Etobicoke Olympium to compete at the Mega City Swim Meet this past weekend (December 8-10^th). All Marlins swam exceptionally well posting 73 % personal best times. Bringing home medals from the Ontario competition were Tim Bennett (15&Over Bronze 200 IM, Silver 400 Free and 400 IM), Ryan Baxter (15&Over Bronze 400IM and 200 Fly, Silver 100 Fly) and Megan Winsor (15&Over 400 IM and 400 Free, Silver 200 Free). Coach Shears responded “they swam very well being away from the comforts of home and facing new unknown competition” at the meet of 500 plus swimmers. It was “very beneficial for the swimmers to travel and race in one the strongest swimming provinces in the country, they were not shaken at all and responded like true champions”.
