About Our Coaches
Duffy Earle began coaching with the Marlins in 2007. Duffy competed in swimming for many years, as well as being active through rowing, running and yoga. She is currently completing her NCCP Level 3 Coaching Certification. The Marlins have grown to new heights since Duffy took over the Marlins is 2007. Swimmers have experienced competition at Provincial, National and International levels and acheived goals that were hard to believe possible. Duffy is looking forward to a new season for her groups Marlins 1 and 2 in September!
Robert Howlett, a former swimmer with the Marlins, began coaching with the Marlins in 2007. In the 2009-2010 swim season "Roberto" coached the Novice group. Robert is currently attending MUN completing a recreation degree and working towards his NCCP coaching certification. Robert is looking forward to coaching Marlins 3 for the first time in September!
Jean Dobbie has been coaching with the Marlins for a number of years, longer then anyone on the coaching staff. Jean learned to swim in Scotland where she competed throughout her school years. She has coached various groups with the Marlins and is also the head coach of the Mount Pearl Special Olympics program. We are excited to have Jean's experience passed on to the swimmers in Marlins 4 this year. Jean is excited to get to know the swimmers of Marlins 4 in the new season!
Kaity Bennett swam competitively for 9 years with both the Legends and the Marlins. Currently attending Holy Heart High School, Kaity is a great athlete who plays rugby and hockey. She volunteered with the Marlins precompetitive program last season and after working with our summer camps this year. Kaity is excited to begin her coaching career with the Novice group!
Craig Stoyles has been coaching with the Marlins precompetitive programfor 3 years. He grew up in Mount Pearl and has spent countless hours volunteering with various sports in this Area. Craig attended Canada Games in 2009 as special olympics support staff and still coaches with the Mount Pearl Special Olympics program. In his free time he plays Ultimate Frisbee and is a great pool player.Craigs swimmers have all moved on to competitive this year, so he's looking forward to coaching his new group!
Lindsay Denine has been a Marlin for 5 years and is competing with the team during her last year of High School this coming season, Currently attending Mount Pearl Senior High, Lindsay is a great athlete who has been a part of her school's volleyball team and soccer team. After working with our summer camps this year, she is excited to begin coaching the Pre-competitive swimmers of the Marlins!
Jenn O'Reilly has been a Marlin since 2005 and is competing with the team during her last year of High School this coming season, Currently attending Mount Pearl Senior High, Jenn is a great athlete who has been competing at horse shows around the province for many years. She is excited to begin coaching the Pre-competitive swimmers of the Marlins. Jenn is excited to coach for the Marlins precompetive program and hopes to see kids from the summer camp back to try out!
