Looking for new members who are at red cross level 7 or above. $60 per month plus annual $30 SNL fee.

Sept 17th 545 to 630pm

Canada Games Training Camp

8 Marlins have just returned from a training camp held in Montreal this past week. We had a great time with two practices a day at the World Championship Trials Pool in Parc Jean Drapeau, as well as dryland sessions including runs up Mount Royal. The Marlins trained very well and had unofficial best times at our mini meet. For a list of attending swimmers click here. Congratulations Marlins!

Age Group Championship Results

8 swimmers from the Marlins competed at Age Group Nationals now called the Age Group Championships in Montreal July 15th to 19th. These swimmers included Adam Harvey, Aiden Wiseman, Becca Dyer, Darci Tucker, Liam Cadigan, Morgan Lye, and Ryan Adams. The Marlins had 47% best times, however many of our swimmers had between 60 and 85% personal best times! We had 9 club records broken by Becca, Darci, Morgan, Ryan, Liam, Gavin, and Aiden.

The Marlins had three finals! Congratulations to Gavin on making a final in the 13 year olf 400IM, and Darci for the 13year old 50 breast and 200 breast! Congratulations to Darci for breaking the provincial record in 50 breast for not only her age group but for the Open age group as well, and also for qualifying for Eastern Canadian championships in two events. All the Marlins were very supportive of each other and played a big part in each others success.

Marlins place 7 swimmers on Canada Summer Games Team and win meet!

The Canada Games Team is comprised of 12 males and 12 females. We are delighted to announce that SEVEN of those swimmers named to the team come from the Mount Pearl Marlins, and to top it all off the Marlins won the top team award as well! Four years ago the Marlins had just three swimmers on the team, all of whom are no longer eligible for the games. More great news is that five of our seven swimmers qualified will still be eligible in four years time and we expect that at that time they will pursing medals. Six of the swimmers qualified from the Marlins are qualified for Age Group Nationals in Montreal this July. We hope to keep adding to the caliber of our team and have at least 5 more swimmers qualified next time around! Congratulations Darci T, Morgan L, Becca D, Lindsay D, Adam H, Gavin D, and Ryan A! Congratulations to our alternate Lesley Marie L.
